I have flows Alitalia at least 10 times in the last 2 years, so I can say that transfers with Alitalia are OK if you stick to a simple rule: always assume them to be 1 hour late. In practice, there is only once case when they are not late and this is when the aircraft is half-empty (in which case they even manage to arrive early). In all other cases they run up to 2 hours late (even before noon!), but the loose schedule helps them arrive with up to an hour of delay. This is usually not a big deal if you are transferring to another Alitalia flight, because it will likely also get delayed; but if you are changing airlines with a more punctual one, you may well miss your connection.
