Fly Dubai is the Dubai-based Low Cost carrier, serving 95 destinations out of its hub at Terminal 2 of Dubai International Airport. Fly Dubai offers the possibility of connecting flights on another Fly Dubai or Emirates flight.

Airline transfer policy

Connecting with another flydubai flight

You can transfer in Dubai to another flydubai flight without collecting your baggage in Dubai andwithout a UAE visa using our flydubai connect service.

So, for example, if you want to fly from Doha to Khartoum via Dubai, choose your destination of origin and your final destination when you search for a flight.

You'll get a booking confirmation for Doha to Dubai and Dubai to Khartoum. You check your baggage in at Doha and pick it up in Khartoum. See the flydubai baggage policy.

Connecting in Dubai

When you reach Dubai, go to the flydubai connect desk where your boarding pass and travel documents will be checked.

Traveling in business class

As business class is not available on all flydubai flights, you cannot book to travel in business class on all connecting flydubai flights.

If business class is available on both flydubai flights on a connection, we will offer a business class booking on these flights. If business class is not available on one of the legs in a connection, we cannot offer you a combination of business and economy bookings and your entire journey will be booked in economy class.

Connecting to and from flydubai with Emirates

If you've bought a ticket with Emirates and part of your journey is with flydubai, you can pick up your baggage at your final destination – you won't have to collect it in Dubai.

Your journey

At some airports you’ll get a boarding pass for your entire journey, but at others you’ll only be given your boarding pass for your journey to Dubai. Emirates will give you another boarding pass in Dubai for your onward journey.

Please note:

If you want to change your booking, you'll need to contact Emirates.
The Emirates baggage policy applies.
You'll need to have a valid Emirates e-ticket and the correct documents whether you check in with Emirates or flydubai
To find out if you're traveling in economy class or business class on flydubai, you'll need to contact Emirates.

Arriving in Dubai

If you arrive on an Emirates flight, go to the central transfer desk in Terminal 3 (transfer desk K).

If you arrive on a flydubai flight, go to the transfer desk in Terminal 2.

You'll be given a boarding pass for your onward journey if you weren't given one when you checked in at the start of your journey.

Connecting with other airlines

To transfer in Dubai to or from a flydubai flight, you'll need to make two separate bookings: one on flydubai and one on another airline.

Please note:

The flight you book to Dubai needs to arrive at least 3 hours before the scheduled departure of the second flight and you need to be at the boarding gate at least 45 minutes before take-off.
If you don't have a UAE visa, the scheduled departure of the second flight needs to be within 24 hours of your arrival in Dubai.
Without a UAE visa, you won’t be allowed to leave the airport.

Your journey

When you arrive at the check-in desk, tell the agent you're transferring onto another flight in Dubai. You'll need to show confirmation of your onward booking and/or ticket and your travel documents. Once your documents have been checked, your baggage will be tagged for Dubai.

If you're travelling on another airline, your boarding pass for your connecting flight will be issued at the Dnata transfer desk in arrivals at Dubai International Airport.

In Dubai

When you reach Dubai, go to the dnata transfer desk, where you'll be checked-in for your next flight and your bags will be re-tagged for your final destination. You'll need to show your:

onward ticket or flydubai booking confirmation
valid travel documents for acceptance at your final destination
your baggage tag if you checked in baggage at the start of your journey

You'll need to pay for any excess baggage. See the flydubai baggage policy.

Things you need to know

You need to make sure there’s enough transfer time in Dubai to connect to your next flight.

flydubai won't be responsible:

if you miss your connection in Dubai (even if the flydubai flight is delayed)
for your transit expenses
for the cost of sending you back to your country of origin if you don’t have the correct documents for acceptance at your final destination
for any fines you get because you don't hold valid travel documents

If you're connecting to or from another airline, you'll need to contact them to confirm that they'll allow you to connect with flydubai.

If I could give a zero star to this airline, I would do that. Please don't use this airline. I have suffered from severe psychological stress due to missed connection flight and unprofessional behavior from the FlyDubai staff. Their aircraft are never on time. I missed my connection and they made no apologies, offered no empathy, no reimbursement, and no accommodation. I am a US citizen and an avid traveler but I have never been through any experience like this. They gave us false information and didn\'t even care that I was a female traveling alone with 2 young children. They did not offer any reimbursement either and walked away from stranded passengers without answering the questions. I would never ever recommend anyone to use this airline. I wish I had read their reviews online prior to booking. This is why I am giving a review in the hope that someone will benefit from my review and it will save them from going through what I did.

The worst customer service ever! I have booked my ticket yesterday and due to the poor mobile booking application date picker the date selected was 2 days earlier then my actual return date. I called the customer service immediately and they told me that I have to pay modification fee of 200 USD when the entire ticket cost was the same and the ticket on that day was even cheaper! Following the advise of the operator I sent an email informing me exactly the same without regard to my request whatsoever!
I don’t normally fly with fly Dubai but for sure after this blackmailing experience I will not repeat that. They spoiled my entire vacation before it even started!! And not because of this ridiculous policies, but because of the disregard they treat there customers with! If I had a choice I would have never chosen this airline but as at the moment this is the only direct flight to Sofia I have no other choice!!

This was a connection between Fly Dubai and Emirates airlines, therefore it involved changes of terminals as Fly Dubai operates from the low cost Terminal 2, which is very far away from Terminal 3 - the hub of Emirates. The connection happened airside and we were asked to go to a small a waiting room, where we waiting approximately 30 minutes for the transfer bus to arrive. Once on the bus, the trip continued for another 30 min, so it took around 1h to reach the Emirates terminal. After security control, we ended up in the main concourse of Terminal 3 - Gate Area B, where we were disappointed - food court was closed for rennovation (or appeared to be) and only small cafes were found around. The real disappointment came after we looked for places to rest - just a few worn our leg rest chairs, all noisy around. The connecting experience was not very pleasant from amenities standpoint, otherwise staff and service went well. Keep in mind that the Fly Dubai Terminal 2 is like a bus station, extremely packed and small...no places to rest and numerous announcements via the speakers. In case of long layovers, I recommend to stick around the Emirates terminal as long as possible. At least it is silent and no announcements are made via speakers.
